COMPANY OVERVIEW
GCRE is a real estate development company delivering large-scale residential and mixed-use developments. We manage projects from concept through delivery, with a strong focus on cost control, quality, and timely execution. We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor who will play a critical role in cost management, procurement, and commercial oversight across our construction projects.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, procurement of materials and subcontractors, and commercial administration throughout the construction lifecycle. The role requires close coordination with project managers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure value for money, cost certainty, and timely procurement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quantity Surveying & Cost Management

Prepare cost plans, bills of quantities, budgets, and cost estimates at various project stages

Monitor project costs and cash flows against approved budgets
-
Measure and value works executed on site
-
Review or prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts
-
Manage variations, claims, and change control processes
-
Prepare cost reports and financial summaries for management
-
Prepare and manage project budgets in line with awarded contract sums
-
Track cost commitments, actual expenditure, and forecast final project costs
-
Monitor subcontractor costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets

Procurement & Contract Administration
-
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project programmes
-
Prepare tender documents, RFQs, and evaluation reports for contractors and suppliers

Source, prequalify, and manage supplier and subcontractor databases
-
Negotiate prices, contract terms, and delivery schedules
-
Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders
-
Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid project delays

Commercial & Stakeholder Coordination
-
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align cost and programme
-
Liaise with consultants and contractors on commercial matters
-
Support contract administration under standard forms (e.g. FIDIC / bespoke contracts)

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and internal controls
-
Prepare monthly cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, and profit projections
-
Support project managers in achieving targeted project margins
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Academic & Professional
-
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related fields.

Registered Membership with BORAQS is an advantage
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in quantity surveying within construction or real estate development
-
Demonstrated experience handling procurement and cost control on active construction projects
-
Experience working with both contractors and consultants
-
Exposure to large scale residential or mixed-use developments is preferred
-
Experience in design-and-build projects will be an added advantage
